Fort Worth Man Dies after Jumping on Car: Police

A Fort Worth man was killed early Tuesday when he jumped on the hood of a car and the driver took off, police said.

Herman Sneed, 25, was walking with a woman in the 5500 block of East Lancaster about 2 a.m. when a driver pulled up and asked the woman if she wanted a ride, said Fort Worth police officer Daniel Segura.

When the woman got in the man’s car, Sneed became angry, jumped on the car and banged on the front windshield, Segura said.

The case was originally reported as a hit-and-run but police later said the case was classified as criminal mischief.

The driver stopped at a nearby police station and called for help.

Sneed later died at John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
