Arson Kills Two Men in Fort Worth

Fort Worth Fire Dept. says the fire was deliberately set

A house fire that claimed the lives of two men in Fort Worth Saturday night has been ruled arson.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 4500 block of Moorview Avenue around 7:57 p.m.  Fort Worth Fire Captain Tom Crow said firefighters found one victim in a back bedroom and another in the kitchen.

The victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene, were later identified by neighbors as 90-year-old Bobby Hubbard and his nephew Thomas Wheat Jr.

On Sunday, Crow told NBC 5 that the fire was deliberately set and is now the focus of a criminal investigation.

No suspects have been revealed.

Fort Worth Fire told NBC 5 this is the second house fire on this block on that day.  The first fire started down the street at someones front door, but the house never caught on fire, officials said.
