The Fort Worth Office of Emergency Management is looking into why several outdoor warning sirens went off early Thursday morning and again Thursday evening.
According to Keith Wells, senior emergency management officer, numerous calls started coming in shortly before 6 a.m. reporting the sirens sounding in various parts of the city.
Callers reported hearing the sirens near East Loop 820 and Interstate 30 and near Alta Vista Road and Golden Triangle Boulevard.
Officials have not determined why the sirens activated.
Just after 7 p.m. they went off again, and the city said it was a false alarm.

Fort Worth's emergency manager, Juan Ortiz, said late Thursday he was headed to his office after the sirens sounded the second time and did not know the cause.
"It's very unusual, and we take it very seriously," he said. "We want to make sure the system is very reliable."
Fort Worth resident Martha Schroeder said she was awakened by the first false alarm and startled by the second.
"They need to figure out what's going on," she said.
