A 2-year-old is recovering at a Fort Worth hospital Saturday evening after he nearly drowned in a community pool, according to Fort Worth Police.

Fort Worth police and fire departments were called to the 2800 block of Walton Avenue to respond to a drowning.

Officials said the family couldn't find their child at around 4:30 p.m. and began to search their apartment complex for the boy.

When the family found him in the complex pool, the child was pulled from the water and the first officer on the scene performed CPR. He was then transported to Cook Children's in Fort Worth.

The status and name of the child has not been released publicly.
