Fort Worth Cell Phone Store Robbery Caught on Camera

Fort Worth police are searching for the man who robbed a cell phone store at gunpoint this week.

A man dressed in black pulled a gun on workers inside a T-Mobile store at 2209 W. Berry Street, according to police.

The crime was reported shortly after noon Wednesday, and detectives are working to determine if the crime is connected to a string of similar incidents in Dallas from April and May.

The masked man ordered all employees inside the store – including a woman who was eight months pregnant – into a back room.

Security video from the store shows the man pointing a handgun at the pregnant employee while he hands her plastic bags, which, according to police, he ordered her to fill with iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 smart phones.

"During the robbery, a delivery person entered the store and knocked on the door where the gunman was holding the employees," a police news release stated.

That knock apparently scared the robber, who then ordered an employee to let him exit through a locked back door which leads to an alley, police said.

Once he exited the store, one of the bags containing cell phones ripped open, spilling the phones out onto the ground, according to the police report from the incident.

Police said they are searching for an African-American young man, between 17 and 25 years old, approximately five-feet, six-inches to five-feet, eight-inches tall with a stocky, muscular build.

He was wearing a ski mask, gold rim "aviator-style" sunglasses, a dark blue hooded jacket with sweat pants and white tennis shoes, according to police.

The man was seen driving a light gray or gray "newer" model Ford Fusion sedan, with the front license plate missing, police said.
