Former UNT President, Chancellor Bickered: Report

E-mails, memos and other documents show that the former president of the University of North Texas disagreed with the chancellor of the UNT system over numerous issues.

Gretchen M. Bataille resigned last month without explanation. The Dallas Morning News obtained thousands of documents through an open-records request.

The newspaper reported Thursday night that Bataille and system Chancellor Lee Jackson disagreed on how much to raise tuition, whether to consolidate some campus technology and human resource departments, and the future of downtown Dallas classroom facilities.

The newspaper says the documents don't reveal what exactly led Bataille to leave.

Bataille described it as a forced resignation.
