A Texas judge has sentenced a former state geologist to 60 years in prison for promotion and possession of child pornography.
A Williamson County judge handed down three consecutive 20-year sentences to a 61-year-old from Austin on Thursday for promotion of child porn. The judge also sentenced the man to five years to be served at the same time for 46 counts of child porn possession.
The Austin American-Statesman reports the man is a former geologist with the Texas General Land Office.
He pleaded guilty to all charges this week. Prosecutors say he had more than 25,000 images on his computer, including images of his daughters.
The man's attorney says he plans to appeal.
