Former Fort Worth Cop Back In Jail

Officer accused of four more on-duty sexual assaults

A former Fort Worth police officer suspected of sexual assault is back in jail and accused of sexually assaulting four more women while on duty.

Daniel Lopez, 33, was free on bail when he was arrested Tuesday afternoon on the four new warrants.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Lopez is in the Mansfield Jail on four warrants accusing him of sexual assault, three of which were aggravated.

Authorities said a woman reported that Lopez sexually assaulted her Thanksgiving night.

Betty Arvin, of the Tarrant County District Attorney's Criminal Division, said while investigating that case, police discovered three others.

Court records show that he is accused of forcing alleged victims to give him oral sex while he was on duty.

Lopez had worked for the police department since 2004. He resigned the day before his first arrest.

His bail is $100,000.
