Former Dallas City Council Member Jerry Bartos Dies Bartos dead at 75.

Outspoken former Dallas City Council member and Dallas Independent School District board member Jerry Bartos has died.

Bartos was 75.

Bartos is best known for his six years on the city council where he questioned most anything related to city government in Dallas, most notably the Wright Amendment and its restrictions on Dallas' Love Field airport.

Bartos served on DISD's board from 1979 to 1981 and with the city council from 1987 to 1993.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 7611 Park Lane in Dallas.
