Crews put the finishing touches Friday morning on the town of Flower Mound’s first ever dog park.
The Hound Mound opened Friday afternoon at Heritage Park on Garden Ridge Blvd.
The park features several large fenced in areas for dog owners to bring their canines to play and socialize.
The town started work on the park last year, but leaders say residents had been asking for one for close to a decade in the growing Denton County community.
In preparation for the park opening, the town held two dog park etiquette events to help dog owners create a safe atmosphere in the new space.
“We want people to train their dog before going to the dog park and socialize. A trained and socialized pet is a safe pet,” said Animal Services Manager Christine Hastings.
The Hound Mound will be open daily from 7 a.m. to dusk. For more information, click here.
