Many will only get to see the view from the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro through photographs, but one man made the historic climb to see the view himself.
25-year-old Nick Ballo has just returned from his trip to Mount Kilimanjaro. He made the treacherous climb to raise money in honor of his mother who died of stomach cancer when Ballo was five years old.
Donors have contributed $7,000 to his cause.
"I thought of them the whole way up and the whole way down, and it really touched me to know there are such good, caring people in this world," said Ballo.
The funds will go to the Avow Hospice's Child Bereavement Services, the same organization that helped him deal with his mother's death.
