Flooding Forces Grapevine 4th Fireworks Changes

High water from recent flooding has had a lasting impact on many North Texas communities, and a flooded Lake Grapevine forced a few changes for the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza in Grapevine.

All public parks owned by the city along the lake remained closed for the holiday weekend, but a designated viewing area was established at the parking lot outside Grapevine Mills Mall.

High water from recent flooding has had a lasting impact on many North Texas communities, and a flooded Lake Grapevine forced a few changes for the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza in Grapevine.

Mall officials said no alcohol, tailgating or grilling was allowed in the parking lot, but anyone who wished to come was invited inside the mall to stay cool until sunset.

For the Fourth of July fireworks show the Gaylord Texan Resort's rooftop parking garage was limited to overnight hotel guests and was closed to the public.

The 25-minute fireworks show was set to begin at 9:30 p.m.
