First Appearance in Morris Kidnapping Case Set

A man accused of kidnapping a 23-year-old woman missing since last July could have a trial date Friday afternoon.

The court calls it a "first appearance," but 24-year-old Enrique Arochi will not actually appear in court. Instead, Judge Mark Rusch will hold a private meeting with Arochi's attorneys and the prosecution to discuss trial dates and exchange new documents and evidence discoveries.

Surveillance video shows Arochi walking Christina Morris to her car the night she disappeared. Authorities arrested Arochi after investigators later found Morris' DNA in the trunk of his car.

In addition to kidnapping charges, Arochi was also indicted on a charge of sexual assault of a child. A 19-year-old woman claims she and Arochi had a 6-month relationship when she was 16.

Arochi remains in jail on $1 million bond.
