Firefighters Rescue 2 Cats, 1 Dog from Fire in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to a fire at an apartment in North Fort Worth in the 5700 block of Sandshell Drive at about 4:30 p.m.

Officials said that when they arrived there was a lot of fire coming from the apartment buidling and they called for extra help. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in the first 30 minutes.

Officials said that one person had a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital. Firefighters were able to rescue one puppy and two cats, who were also uninjured and returned to their owners.

Eighteen units were damaged by the fire.

Officials said that Red Cross was called to the apartment complex to help anyone who was displaced by the fire.

FWFD Arson investigators are still investigating what caused the fire.
