Firefighters Battle East Dallas House Fire

Fire apparently started in attic; no one injured

Dallas firefighters battled a house fire Tuesday night.

The blaze began just after 8 p.m. in the 4700 block of Junius Street.

Four people were inside the two-story house at the time. No one was injured.

The fire apparently started in the attic. Dolores Damian said her niece was the first person to notice something was wrong.

"And she started screaming, 'There's smoke, fire,' and then my daughter ran upstairs to see it," she said. "She says, 'Oh my God, the flames are already too big to get in there.' They both ran down and started screaming at us to get out."

It appeared as though the fire was limited to the upper part of the house.

There was no immediate word what caused the fire.

NBC 5's Scott Gordon contributed to this report.
