Fire in Frisco, Possible Lightning Strike

A fire in the 8300 block of Shady Shore Drive in Frisco may have been caused by lightning, firefighters say.

The fire department was called to the scene at about 12:10 p.m. and arrived at 12:15 p.m. to find heavy flames coming from the two-story home.

Three fire engines, one truck, an ambulance, and the department's Rescue and Light, Air & Rehab specialty units responded. The fire was under control by 12:41 p.m.

Officials say that the homeowner was walking through his neighborhood looking for lightning damage when he returned home to find flames coming from his attic. He alerted his wife, and both made it out of the home safely.

No one was hurt. Officials are investigating the cause, but they suspect the fire was caused by lightning.
