A four-alarm fire in Lewisville damaged dozens of apartments Friday morning.

The fire was located at the Somerset apartment complex at 256 E. Corporate Drive.

Large flames shot up through the roof of at least one apartment building, sending up smoke visible for miles.

Most of the blaze was contained by 7:15 a.m. Friday morning, but high temperatures and the large structure caused fire crews to issue extra alarms.

One apartment building was destroyed and a second was seriously damaged. Fire crews said there were no injuries.

The American Red Cross is headed to the scene to assist residents who have been displaced by the fire.
