Fire Destroys Home Near Eagle Mountain Lake

The Eagle Mountain Fire Department worked for almost seven hours Tuesday to extinguish a fire at a two-story home in the 4500 block of Wind Hill Court.

The fire was reported just before 4 p.m. and several fire departments from nearby cities helped battle the blaze.

When Chopper 5 arrived at the fire, the entire second floor of the 5,500-square-foot home was gutted by fire and the garage had collapsed.

Oncor was called to the scene to cut power to the home.

There were no injuries reported and no other structures were involved.

Investigators believe an electrical short may have started the fire.  While a damage estimate has not yet been made available, the home was appriased at $440,000.
