House Fire Kills One, Injures Two

Fatal Fire in Lancaster

A house fire in Lancaster killed one person and injured two others Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 4300 block of Percy at 9:20 a.m. according to Robert De Los Santos, Dallas County Fire Marshal.

"While they were fighting the fire, they had two people that were transported to the hospital that we know." De Los Santos said. "And one we have a fatality out of this fire as well."

Investigators are still searching for the cause and the source of the fire.  The condition of the two survivors has not been made public.  They were both outside the home at the time of the fire.

Pamela Benson lives nearby.  "It was in flames, everything was engulfed, but at that time I thought it was going to catch my neighbor’s house on fire, but luckily, all the fire trucks and stuff were out here, so they were taking care of it," Benson said.

House fires killed five people last weekend.  Arson killed two men in Fort Worth last Saturday, February 4.  A house fire the next morning in Cedar Hill killed three people.
