Fire Engulfs 2 Homes in Dallas Neighborhood

Damage to the first house was considered a total loss.

Two homes in a southern Dallas neighborhood caught fire Monday morning, officials said. No injuries were reported, officials said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews arrived to the home about 1:20 a.m. in the 2400 block of S. Ewing, DFR officials said. The heat from the first home ignited combustible material at the second house.

There were no residents believed to be home at the first house. In the second house, two parents and four teen children were safe but displaced from their home, officials said. The American Red Cross is helping them with their needs, officials said.

Damage to the first house was considered a total loss.

Dallas Fire-Rescue is investigating the cause of the fire.
