Fire Destroys Home While Family at One Direction Concert

A North Dallas family couldn't have asked for a better night Sunday as they took their daughter to see One Direction. But while they were at the concert, a massive fire ripped through their home.

"She wanted to see One Direction. It was kind of a 'you are going to go to school tomorrow, this is your gift' kind of thing. Had a great time," said mother Andrea Lamersaude.

As the family drove home, they could see flames ahead. And when they asked someone where the fire was, the person gave their address.

"I got out of the car and I started running. I came around the corner and I could see the flames just coming out," said Lamersaude.

Three rescue dogs, two cats and a turtle were inside the home, and none survived the fire.

Their daughter is devastated.

"Our number one priority is our daughter. We want her to go on and have a good eighth grade," said Lamersaude.

Some of their neighbors were sleeping at the time of the fire, but one woman went through the cul-de-sac knocking on doors to make sure everyone got out.

"It could happen to any of us, but when it's your house or the house next door, you are really concerned because you know the people," said next-door neighbor David Davidson.

"We have a lot of friends and family that are helping us, showing a lot of support and helping us, and I want to thank everybody for that," said Lamersaude.

Dallas Fire and Rescue said it is still too dangerous for fire investigators to go inside the structure right now. They continue to look for a cause.
