A Fort Worth day care will likely stay closed on Thursday as firefighters continue to investigate a fire that damaged several business on Sycamore School Road early Thursday morning.

The fire began shortly before 1 a.m. inside the Metro Insurance office. The business was gutted by fire  while several adjacent businesses suffered smoke damage; including a convenience store, a recording studio, and the Brilliant Minds day care.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in less than half an hour.

Officials said the day care doesn’t have power and has smoke damage, so it may not be able to open for a while.

No one was injured in the fire.

Arson investigators are working to determine where the fire started in the insurance office and if it was set intentionally.
