Final DFW Shelter for Harvey Evacuees Closes

The city of Dallas announced on Sunday that the last shelter that was housing Hurricane Harvey evacuees has now closed.

The Tommie Allen Recreation Center in South Dallas was the last of the temporary shelters still open in Dallas.

The city says everyone who was staying there has now returned home, found an apartment or are staying in local hotels.

The city opened the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center as a mega-shelter after the hurricane hit. It was closed on September 20.
