A man and a woman died after a fiery head-on collision near state Highway 34 and County Road 328 in Kaufman County Saturday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a 1997 Ford Explorer and a 2013 Ford Focus collided northeast of the city of Terrell and southwest of Lake Tawakoni.
There was one person in each car and both died in the fire. Their names have not been released but DPS confirmd that the genders of the occupants.
In pictures sent to NBC 5 by a crash witnesses, both vehicles were charred and unrecognizable.
Troopers said one of the vehicles drove on the wrong side of the road prior to the crash and they're still trying to figure out why.
