Pilot Killed in Ultralight Aircraft Crash in Cleburne

The pilot of an ultralight aircraft was killed when the plane crashed Monday evening in Johnson County, authorities say.

The crash was reported just before 5:30 p.m. in a patch of trees along railroad tracks near Blackwood Airpark on the 3300 block of North Main Street in Cleburne, according to Johnson County Emergency Management.

The plane came down about 25 yards from a nearby apartment building, but no injuries from anyone on the ground were reported.

The pilot's name has not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash, and additional information has not yet been released.
