Farm House Fire is Third Royse City Blaze in Week

The Rockwall County Fire Marshal is investigating if three rural fires in the same neighborhood of Royse City are connected.

Firefighters say all three fires happened within the last week.

On Tuesday morning, a fire burned an old farm house to the ground on Highway 276 and Highline Drive. The ashes smoldered for more than five hours.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond the farm house into the neighboring community of rural houses. The two other fires have been grass fires only.

Royse City firefighters said they can't say for sure if the fires are connected and don't have a cause yet for Tuesday's fire. NBC5 has left a message with the fire chief for additional information.
