Bevo has something to snort about, Forbes says UT has the most valuable team in college sports.

Fans of the famed Cactus Cafe on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin want the venue relocated instead of being closed.

The Texas Union board of directors last week endorsed shutting the cafe at the end of August in a moneysaving move as the university faces possible budget cuts.

Leaders of Texas Exes, an organization for UT alums, offered Tuesday to explore the possibility of incorporating the cafe into a planned expansion of the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center.

UT President William Powers Jr., during the public forum on budget matters, said he was open to the idea.

A proposal for a nearly 4 percent tuition increase for each of the next two academic years is pending.

Shutting the iconic cafe would save an estimated $66,000.
