Family members and neighbors held a candlelight vigil Monday night for a boy hit and killed by a police cruiser.

Investigators say Cole Berardi, 10, was crossing South Belt Line road in Dallas on his bicycle Friday night when Senior Cpl. Michael Vaughn hit him.

Services for Cole will be held at New Hope Funeral Home on Tuesday.

Vaughn, who has been with the Dallas Police Department since October 2003, has been placed on standard paid administrative leave while the crash is under investigation.
