Family Marks 1 Year After Christina Morris' Disappearance

23-year-old last seen at the Shops at Legacy in Plano

Friends and family gathered Sunday to mark one year since the disappearance of 23-year-old Christina Morris, who vanished from the Shops at Legacy after a night out with friends Aug. 30, 2014.

Even a year later, Morris' mother, Jonni McElroy, continues to search for her daughter every weekend.

"My belief is be prepared, which I am, for the worst of the worst and be excited and keep those arms open, hoping for the best," said McElroy.

About 100 people attended a Police seminar Wednesday, during which Officer Christopher Bianez taught a number of crucial personal safety measures, including how to be a less-attractive target, how criminals choose their victims and strategies to reduce the chances of falling victim to crime.

The man was was last seen with, Enrique Arochi, remained in jail for aggravated kidnapping.

Officer Tilley said investigators feel like there is still a lot of information that is left uncovered.
"We still have not found Christina, so we're working very hard to see if we can locate her," he said.

The Plano Police Department has a detective that is solely dedicated to the Morris case, and another officer is solely dedicated toward searches.
