Facebook Apology Upsets Victim's Family

The wife of a suspected drunken driver accused of striking and killing a pedestrian on a Houston freeway and driving several miles after the victim crashed through the windshield has upset the victim's family with a Facebook apology.

The brother of the victim, Fadel Steadman, said the wife's private message expressing condolences was impersonal and insensitive.

Steadman's family discussed the Facebook message after the suspect, James Onak, made his initial court appearance Friday in Houston following his arrest earlier this week.

Onak's attorney says his client's wife was only trying to express her family's remorse for what happened.
