FW Libraries Slated to Close to Stay Open

Two Fort Worth libraries have been saved from the budget ax.

A spokesperson for the city said the Ridglea and Northside branches will now stay open thanks to increased spending in the city that resulted in higher sales tax revenues.

A private foundation had offered to keep the libraries open, at least part-time.

Now the libraries will stay open on the city's dime with regular, full-time hours.
