Exxxotica Sues Dallas Over Venue Ban

An annual adult-oriented event is suing the city of Dallas for banning the sex expo from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Exxxotica filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the city, Mayor Mike Rawlings and the members of Dallas City Council who voted to not let them use the convention center.

The suit claims the ban is unconstitutional, saying it violates the event's First Amendment free-speech rights.

Rawlings pushed for the ban, calling it a "civic obligation" to protect Dallas and its citizens.

Approximately 15,000 people attended last year's event at the convention center.
