Prosecutors say a former North Texas teacher has been sentenced to eight years in prison for having sex with three separate juveniles, and on one occasion videotaping an encounter while at school.
Once 40-year-old Willis Bassham gets out of prison, he will have lifetime supervised release. The former McKinney resident was sentenced Friday for possession of child pornography. He had pleaded guilty to the charge in December.
Bassham taught at Garland High School and authorities say he admitted to engaging in sexual acts with three girls who were students at the school in suburban Dallas.
They say he also admitted to producing images and videos of two of the girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Bassham had videos on his cellphone of himself and one of the minors, then 17.
