An assistant principal at a middle school in San Antonio has quit as he faces three sex-related counts for an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old student.
Bexar County jail records show Severo Campos Jr. was free Wednesday on $20,000 bond a day after his arrest on a charge of indecency with a child by contact.
Campos was arrested Nov. 9 on a charge of sexual assault of a child, then freed on $75,000 bond. The 42-year-old educator was later charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student, then freed on $30,000 bond.
Campos resigned Monday from E.T. Wrenn Middle School in the Edgewood Independent School District.
Defense attorney Therese Huntzinger said Wednesday that Campos is presumed innocent and school district police are overreaching in their "continual harassment" of him.
