A West Texas man has been arrested after police say he threw his wife from a third-floor apartment balcony during an argument.
El Paso police say 21-year-old Mariza Shaffa suffered rib, skull, back and lung injuries. Officials with Del Sol Medical Center on Sunday declined to release information about her.
El Paso County jail records show 21-year-old Geomel Alphonso Shaffa of El Paso was being held Sunday on charges of attempted murder, assault on a public servant and resisting arrest. Online jail records don't list an attorney for the husband, whose bond was set at $600,000 over the incident early Saturday in which he also allegedly fought with police.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the argument. The wife landed on some gravel on the ground.
