Gay Rights Activists Plan Chick-fil-A Kiss-In

Activists plan kiss-in on Friday

In response to Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s recent interviews voicing the family-owned company’s support of traditional marriage, gay activist groups have organized a “kiss in” on Aug. 3.

According to detractor’s of the controversial public relations standpoint, the policies instituted by Cathy and Chick-fil-A have caused a wake of hurt throughout the gay community.  The nationwide protest was organized through social media channels and aims to promote awareness and foster a more tolerant view.

Supporters of the traditional marriage viewpoint have vowed to stage counter protests and rallies, and to continue to follow the company's tagline of “eat more chikin’.”  On Wednesday, hundreds turned out at area restaurants in response to Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee dubbing the day "Chick-fil-A appreciation day.

Voices from both sides are calling for a unified action from fellow diners to take sides: support traditional marriage by getting another order of waffle fries; or stand up for equality and boycott the home of the chicken sandwich.

Or, if you wish to avoid the controversy completely, you could always eat tacos.
