East Dallas Sexual Assault Linked to Two 2008 Cases

Dallas police say DNA evidence has connected a sexual assault from earlier this month to two similar cases from 2008.

Police say the Oct. 17 attack is connected with a sexual assault on Oct. 24, 2008 and an attack on Nov. 1, 2008. Investigators are searching their database for DNA matches to other cases.

All three attacks occurred between 4:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. in an area bordered by Central Avenue, Mockingbird Lane, Columbia Avenue and Grand Avenue. The man broke in through either a door or a window in all three cases.

Investigators said that all three victims said the man wore a jacket with upside-down chevrons on the sleeves.

Police are warning people in the historic Junius Heights Neighborhood and other nearby areas to lock their doors and windows and report any suspicious activity.

Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information which leads to an arrest and indictment.
