Early Voting to Begin in North Texas on Tuesday

Volunteers at campaign headquarters in North Texas are busy preparing for early voting to begin in the Super Tuesday Primary.

"Tomorrow is the beginning of early voting - we're very excited about it," said Carol Donovan, Dallas County Democratic Party Chair.

Elections officials in Dallas County say it's critical for Texans to cast their votes in this election.

"The primary determines what's on your November ballot, so you need to make a choice of who do you want to see in November on that ballot," said Toni Pippins-Poole, Dallas Co. Elections Administrator.

Republican Party officials hope to rally their troops by taking signs door-to-door to inform people of when and where to vote.

"This is the earliest primary we've had in Texas in more than two decades, so we think we're going to have a huge turnout, especially since the Republican nomination is still in play. But you've gotta get people to the polls," said Wade Emmert, Chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party.

The Democratic Party is busy organizing its efforts to get people to the polls early.

"We've been having rallies to get people out. We've also made lots of phone calls, and contacted people, email and otherwise. Our precinct chairs are very active, within their precincts and reminding people the time is now to get out and vote," continued Donovan.

Voters can head to the early voting locations between now and February 26.

One thing both parties can agree on is that all North Texans should get out and vote.
