Pair of Brothers Remembered

Hundreds remembered brothers who drowned at Lewisville Lake.

More than a hundred family, friends and classmates gathered at Berkner Park on Sunday, to remember 17-year old Rony Parada and his 15-year brother Harly.

Both brothers drowned at Lewisville Lake early this month.

Rescue crews and family members said Rony was trying to help his younger brother who was in trouble. Both brothers died.

On Sunday, friends gathered for the vigil, organized in part through Social Media.

They shared memories and stories of both brothers. Rony was in the Jr. ROTC program at Berkner. Harly was on the football team.

Their 12-year-old brother Josue, told the crowd he would play football in honor of Harly and wear his jersey.

A friend of Rony's, Eden Williams, said "I think if there was any way to go, he died a hero and that's what he wanted to be."

The family started a bank account at Chase Bank under Rony Parada, to help cover the funeral costs.
