Driver Arrested After Grand Prairie Chase

A driver is behind bars Friday morning after leading police on a wild, 20-mile chase through Grand Prairie and Dallas.

The chase started at about 1 a.m. and involved police cruisers, officers on foot and police dogs. It ended at the Village Oaks Apartments on Overton Road in Dallas.

Grand Prairie police said they were attempting a traffic stop when the driver of a Cadillac drove off.

During the chase on Interstate 20, police said the driver was seen throwing bags of marijuana out the window.

The driver ended up abandoning the car near Overton Road and tried to escape on foot. Police brought in dogs to track him, which lead to him being found and arrested.

Police have not released the driver's name yet, but said he could face felony charges for leading them on the chase. Drug charges are also expected to be filed.
