Driver Killed in Frisco Crash

One person has died following a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a tractor-trailer in Frisco.

Police were called at about 1:30 p.m. to state Highway 121 and Coit Road, where they said a Kenworth 18-wheeler hauling a load of gravel had collided with a Lexus SUV.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, and the driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Medical City of Plano for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not released the identities of the drivers involved.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and police said the intersection would be remained closed into the evening while crews clean up the spilled gravel.
