Driver Crashes Into Parked Dallas Police Car

Two people were hospitalized after a car slammed into a police car Monday night in Dallas.

According to police, the crash took place at Great Trinity Forest Way near Wadsworth, just west of Interstate 45, at about 10:45 p.m.

Officers said the driver of a gray Cadillac ran out of gas and was unable to completely pull out of the eastbound lanes of traffic, leaving the rear of the car in the outside lane.

While police were assisting the stranded driver, the driver of a Mercury struck the Cadillac, crossed the median and then collided with the empty police car that was parked in the westbound lanes, police said.

Both the driver of the Cadillac and Mercury were injured and hospitalized. Their conditions are not known.
