Dallas Paramedic Injured in Ambulance Hit-and-Run Crash

Authorities said a driver crashed into an ambulance on U.S. 175 in Dallas and fled the scene Wednesday night.

Dallas Fire-Rescue officials said the ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital when it was struck on northbound U.S. 175 near Pennsylvania Avenue at about 10:30 p.m.

The patient did not suffer further injuries, but officials said one of two paramedics was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

A police helicopter was dispatched to search for the suspected driver, who was seen heading toward the merger to northbound Interstate 45.

The SUV was found with heavy front end damage and the airbags deployed. Two people who were in the car were later located by police and arrested.

Northbound U.S. 175 was closed during the investigation.
