A Grand Prairie police officer suffered minor injuries when a suspected drunken driver collided with his patrol car early Sunday morning.

The officer, 28-year-old Hunter Dell, was working a crash site near Interstate 30 and state Highway 161 when the driver of a 2005 GMC pickup truck crashed into the rear of Chevrolet another pickup and finally his police cruiser.

Dell and Cerilo Martinez, the driver of the Chevy pickup, were transported to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of minor injuries.

Dell has since been released.

The suspected drunken driver, 26-year-old Jose Martinez (no relation to Cerilo), was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

So far, there is no word if Martinez will face any other charges.
