Dozens Arrested in Houston Prostitution Sting

Houston police set up a fake modeling studio in a prostitution sting that has led to the arrest of more than 60 alleged male clients.

Police on Wednesday announced the arrests in what authorities call a pro-active investigation into selling sex.

Police opened the modeling studio in southwest Houston Jan. 20. Investigators said hundreds of potential customers contacted the studio with the intent to buy sex.

Vice officers working undercover were able to identify and charge 64 men with prostitution-related counts. The arrests began Feb. 19 of men who had gone to the studio and allegedly agreed to pay for sex.

Police said the sting was part of working against sex trafficking, which often involves minor girls and women being abused and coerced into prostitution.
