The city of Frisco is considering whether dogs can be allowed to dine with their owners at restaurant patios.
If the dog-friendly ordinance is approved it would allow restaurants such as Manny's Tex-Mex Grill with outdoor seating to have designated seating for dogs and their owners.
There would be restrictions and certain sanitary requirements.
Dogs won't be allowed inside the restaurants, so there must be a separate entrance to the patio from the outside.
Restaurants also have to post signs at each patio entrance stating it's a "Dog Friendly Patio" and at the main entrance the sign must read "Dog Friendly Patio" access only through Outdoor Patio.
The patio must also be cleaned at least every 12 hours. All dog waste must be cleaned within five minutes and disposed of in an outdoor bin away from patio.
A dog may not be given food while on patio but may be given water in a disposable container.

Employees won't be allowed to interact with the dogs.
As a restaurant owner a few miles from a dog park, Kimberly Gautier is in favor of the proposal and believes it will increase business.
"And it's part of their family for some people. That's their child, so yes we are all for it," said Gautier, owner of Manny's Tex-Mex Grill.
Plenty of people in Frisco are for the idea.
"As long as they're not barking or biting they should be allowed if they are sitting there next to their owners then they should be able to stay there," said dog owner DeAnne Harvey.
Other residents have health concerns considering dogs around food if the ordinance is passed.
"I don't have a dog in my house so I wouldn't want to come to a restaurant and pay money to have a dog sit right next to the table, it's very uncomfortable,” said Walter White.
The ordinance could be voted on during the April 5 city council meeting.
