Despite Rain, Dallas Marathon Proceeding as Planned

Organizers of the Dallas Marathon say despite the rain, the race will go on as planned Sunday.

Crews are expected to arrive at the course between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday to check it and make sure it's good to go.

Their primary concern overnight is not the rain, but the wind. Countless barriers and markers have been set all up and down the course -- items they don't want to see knocked over or blown away.

To try to prevent that, crews laid sandbags on barriers to help weigh them to the ground. They also tied down banners so they can't be blown as easily.

Organizers will continue to monitor the weather through Sunday morning.

The Dallas Marathon is slated to start at 8:05 a.m.
