Denton Drug Bust Sounds Like a Movie Script

The crime has all the ingredients for a great movie script; drugs, attempted-murder-for-hire and an undercover deputy posing as a dirty cop.

But this real-life cop drama ended with a dozen suspects in the Denton County jail.

Investigators say the suspects offered the undercover officer huge bribes to get charges dropped against them.

"He was told that he could earn 2-million dollars in a very short length of time if he would go along with and help their operation," said Denton County's Tom Reedy.

Investigators say the suspects even tried to hire the deputy to murder a competing drug dealer.

The suspects are being held on bonds totaling 44-million dollars.
