Defense for John Wiley Price Requests More Time Before Trial

The defense for Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price has filed documents requesting more time before his trial starts.

The trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 19, 2016.

Price's lawyers claim there isn't enough time to go through all the evidence.

Price was arrested in July 2014 and charged with taking $950,000 in bribes in what prosecutors say was a scheme to use his position on the commissioner's court to enrich himself.

Two people implicated in the public corruption investigation pleaded guilty earlier this year and struck plea agreements with the Department of Justice.
