Deep Fryer Ignites Dallas House Fire

Nobody was injured but a Dallas home was heavily damaged Christmas Day after a fire involving an electrical deep fryer on the front porch.

Dallas Fire Rescue crews were called just before 3 p.m. to the 1500 block of Waweenoc Avenue, where they encountered "lots of fire and smoke" coming from the one-story wood-framed house.

Investigators determined the accidental fire spread from the deep fryer into the attic and caused significant damage to the rest of the home.

A woman and her two adult children escaped the fire without injuries. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.
